Sewing machine | Your choice. Bring your old or new sewing machine. Whatever you like. You don’t need to have the best machine to start quilting. We also rent sewing machines for your convenience while working at the Shop. |
| Rotary cutter | Start with 45 mm for cotton fabric |
| Cutting mat | Start with at least 18“ x 22‘’ |
| Cutting rulers | Start with 6” x 24” to cut strips. Later you will need to add 6” square and 12 ½” square. |
| Thread | Many people use cotton or polyester thread. Start with what you think you like best. Sometimes your sewing machine will dictate what works best for your project. |
| Scissors | Small scissors to clip threads, fabric shears to cut larger pieces of fabric, and paper scissors (never use paper scissors for fabric - you’ll notice the difference in cutting when fabric scissors have been used on paper). |
